About this event
For more than a century, a brotherhood of urban miners - known as sandhogs - has toiled in the shadows beneath New York City. Far below the streets, they dig and blast through bedrock, laying the foundations for bridges, subways, sewers, and water tunnels that keep the city alive. This exhibit by Tom Grimes tells their story in photographs.
